Halloween kit

A natural Halloween decoration: an open succulent terrarium dressed with real dried pumpkins, wood, pine cones and moss. The autumn decor comes with all three versions of the kit.

What's in the kit

The dish

• Clear glass dish, Ø 20 cm × H 8 cm, flat base
• Open, with no stopper or lid — about 2 kg

The live plants (5 succulents)

• 2 assorted succulents, delivered with the filling (1 tall, 1 low)
• 3 assorted succulents in a 6 cm pot, 8 to 12 cm tall including the pot

Varieties change with the harvest: the mix is not guaranteed to be identical.

The dried autumn decor (all versions)

• 3 dried orange pumpkins
• 10 dried mini pumpkins
• 1 bonsai wood branch
• Pine cones
• 1 dried flat moss sheet — 30 × 20 cm, to cut to size

Everything is natural and dried: colours and shapes vary slightly from one piece to the next.

The filling

• Potting soil — 0.75 L
• Clay pebbles for drainage — 0.75 L
• Decorative stones and dried tillandsia

The tools (With tools and Complete versions)

• Extra-long tweezers — 26 cm, stainless steel
• Clear glass mister — 16 cm, black nozzle
• Cork tamper — 22.5 cm, to pack the soil and lay the moss

The extra decor (Complete version)

• Dried tillandsia — bag of about 1 L, decorative, not alive

The three versions

• Essential: the container, the filling and the plants. You already have tweezers and a mister.
• With tools: the Essential, plus the tweezers, the mister and the cork tamper. The right choice for a first terrarium.
• Complete: With tools, plus a bag of dried tillandsia to cover the soil.

Why an open terrarium for Halloween

The dried decor must stay dry. In a closed jar, humidity would make the pumpkins and moss go mouldy. An open dish and succulents, which drink very little, solve the problem: air circulates and the decor does not take on water.

Putting it together

Allow half an hour. Lay a layer of clay pebbles, then the soil, then the succulents, out of their pots. Cut the flat moss and lay it on the soil. The pumpkins, wood and pine cones go on last, on the moss or around the dish.

Care

Bright light, as close to a window as possible. Water at the base of the succulents, a few spoonfuls of water per plant every two to three weeks, when the soil is dry. In winter, once a month at most. Do not wet the pumpkins or the moss.

After Halloween

Take out the pumpkins: you keep a succulent terrarium that lasts all year. Store the dried decor in a box, dry and away from the sun, for next autumn.

Live plants

The plants leave the supplier and travel in an insulated parcel. Open the box on the day of delivery and build the terrarium within 48 hours. If a plant arrives damaged, send us a photo: we will replace it.
